TVKC Winter Warmer Race Report – KMS Race Team Show Strong Pace at PFI

The TVKC Winter Warmer at PF International provided a thrilling weekend of racing, with KMS Race Team drivers demonstrating impressive speed and determination from the outset. Despite some setbacks, the team delivered strong performances and gained valuable experience for the season ahead.

Marcel Popakul – Strong Pace, Unfortunate End

Marcel Popakul displayed fantastic speed throughout the weekend, qualifying well and putting in strong performances during the heats. He was running in 8th place in the final, showing competitive race pace against a highly talented field. Unfortunately, he was hit from behind, which led to a technical issue that forced him to retire. Despite the setback, Marcel’s pace and racecraft were evident, proving he will be a driver to watch this season.

Jack Robinson – Determined Fightback

Jack Robinson had a mixed weekend, facing challenges early on but displaying incredible resilience. After qualifying mid-pack, he suffered a DNF in his first race, putting him on the back foot. However, his determination shone through in the B Final, where he started from the back and fought his way up to an impressive 5th place finish. His ability to recover and move through the field demonstrated his skill and racecraft, marking a strong start to the year.

Myles Burton – Rollercoaster Weekend

Myles Burton delivered a solid qualifying performance, positioning himself just above mid-pack. In his heat, he finished 17th, which placed him on pole position for the following race. However, a post-race penalty saw him drop down the order, preventing him from capitalising on the opportunity. Despite this, Myles showed strong speed and adaptability, proving he has the pace to fight for higher positions in upcoming rounds.

Carter Jackson – Impressive First Outing at PFI

In his first-ever race at PFI, Carter Jackson showed steady progress throughout the weekend. Each session saw him improving his lap times, gradually adapting to the fast-paced and technical layout of the circuit. His ability to keep progressing throughout the weekend was a testament to his work ethic and determination, setting a strong foundation for future success at PFI and beyond.

Braith Murdock – A Fight Through the Pack

Braith Murdock faced challenges in qualifying after getting held up, forcing him to fight through the pack in the heats. His ability to carve his way from 11th to 6th was one of the standout performances of the weekend. His racecraft and overtaking ability were exceptional, proving that he has the talent and skill to battle at the front in future races.

Looking Ahead

The TVKC Winter Warmer proved to be a valuable learning experience for the KMS Race Team, with drivers gaining crucial race time, sharpening their skills, and making key improvements. As the team prepares for the next event, the momentum built from this weekend will play a vital role in future performances.
